Digital pathology is the dynamic, image-basedenvironment that enables the acquisition, management and interpretation ofpathology information generated from a digitized glass slide. With the arrivalof Whole-Slide Imaging, the field of digital pathology has exploded and is currentlyregarded as one of the most promising avenues of diagnostic medicine in orderto achieve even higher, faster and cheaper diagnosis, prognosis and prediction ofcancer and other important diseases.
